Individual & relationship counselling
$150-$160 per session
Counselling with Inclusive Counselling Care will be collaborative and will go at your own pace. I will not judge you, make you talk about anything that feels too painful until you are ready and I will not tell you what to do.
Sometimes people can feel daunted by the prospect of counselling, thinking “if I start to open up, who knows what might come out!” But there is absolutely no pressure to talk about specific details of traumatic memories.
Sometimes people think they have to be “crazy” or have mental health issues, or have experienced a severe trauma to go to counselling. My response is, if it’s important to you then it’s worth talking about with someone. It doesn’t matter how small you think the issue is, talking about it can help.
Unfortunately, as a counsellor, I am not eligible for inclusion in the Medicare Benefits Scheme at this time.
Individual supervision
$190 per session
All counsellors, psychotherapists, psychologists and social workers serve their clients better when they have regular supervision. Supervision offers a safe space in which to explore the complexities of their interactions with their clients and/or colleagues.
Supervision enables therapists to become more insightful and self-aware practitioners, reflecting on their work and creating a space to sit with someone and unpick how their own worldview might be impacting on their work.
Working with a qualified supervisor can offer different perspectives, encouraging a renewed enthusiasm for their practice, a shift in understanding of their clients and their behaviour and a more positive impact on the quality of support they provide.
Reflective practice and organisational supervision
$250 per session
Reflecting on how we think and communicate with colleagues takes on a higher significance in the light of the potential issues that our clients face.
These supervision or reflective practice sessions offer an opportunity to think about the impact of the work on staff and how they can improve their practice. Being able to step back and ask questions like “what else…?”, “what was I thinking when…?” or “what was I feeling when…?” means that staff are subjecting their own beliefs to critical analysis and are then in a better position to take more responsibility for their actions with their clients.
This kind of reflective practice should be created outside of the usual line management processes. It is most effective if facilitated by an external consultant with the focus being placed more on the practitioner as opposed to the clients or targets (although this will obviously play a part in the discussions).
I am able to offer a limited number of sessions at a lower rate for students and those on a low income.
I also offer a wide range of training packages, including:
